Technical Product Manager – Mortgage Technology

Location - Seattle, WA USA

Apply

LON builds software for lenders operating in the wholesale and third-party origination (TPO) mortgage space. Our platform integrates with loan origination systems, pricing engines, mortgage insurance providers, and compliance vendors to create a unified portal experience for lenders and their broker networks.

We are a small, highly technical team. Currently, we operate with three full-time developers, one sales lead, and a founder deeply involved in product, business strategy and architecture. As our client base grows, we are seeking a Technical Product Manager to help bring structure, clarity, and execution discipline to our product development process.

This role is not administrative project management. It is a high-ownership position focused on translating mortgage workflows into well-defined technical specifications, organizing priorities, and reducing ambiguity for engineers.

You will serve as the bridge between clients, sales, and engineering — ensuring that features are clearly defined, properly scoped, and aligned with business priorities before development begins.

The ideal candidate can speak both “mortgage” and “technology.” You should be comfortable discussing broker workflows, wholesale lending processes, and LOS integrations, while also structuring technical documentation and collaborating closely with developers.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary product liaison between clients, sales, and engineering.
  • Gather and refine feature requirements from lenders and internal stakeholders.
  • Translate business needs into structured product specifications and acceptance criteria.
  • Draft workflow documentation and define edge cases prior to development.
  • Create wireframes and UI/UX mockups using Figma before engineering begins.
  • Establish and recommend ticket and project prioritization.
  • Track development timelines and communicate progress to clients.
  • Proactively identify scope creep and facilitate trade-off discussions.
  • Validate delivered features against defined requirements.
  • Maintain clear documentation of integrations, workflows, and feature behavior.

What Success Looks Like

  • Developers receive clear, actionable specifications with minimal ambiguity.
  • Clients have visibility into timelines and understand trade-offs.
  • Feature scope is defined before development begins.
  • Developers are no longer the bottleneck for day-to-day product clarification.
  • Prioritization becomes structured rather than reactive.

Knowledge and Experience

  • 3–6 years of experience in Product Management, Technical Project Management, Business Analysis, or a similar role.
  • Experience working in mortgage, fintech, SaaS, or integration-heavy environments.
  • Ability to understand APIs, data mappings, and system workflows at a conceptual level.
  • Strong written communication and documentation skills.
  • Experience with Figma or similar design tools (or demonstrated ability to learn quickly).
  • Comfort operating in a small, high-accountability team.

Preferred:

  • Experience with wholesale/TPO mortgage workflows.
  • Familiarity with loan origination systems such as Encompass or MeridianLink.
  • Experience working directly with engineers in a startup or small-team environment.

Who This Role Is Not For

  • Individuals looking for a purely administrative project tracking role.
  • Candidates who require highly structured enterprise processes to operate effectively.
  • Those uncomfortable making prioritization recommendations or managing client conversations.

We prefer candidates located in Seattle, as we work on a hybrid schedule, in office, next to Gasworks Park in Wallingford.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 – $110,000.00 per year (dependent on experience)

Benefits:

  • 401(k) 2% match
  • Health insurance

Schedule: 8 hour shift, Monday to Friday

  • Comfortable discussing operational efficiency, compliance workflows, and integration strategy.
  • Self-directed and comfortable operating with high autonomy.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.

  • Individuals seeking a high-base, low-commission sales role.
  • Candidates without mortgage industry experience.
  • Those uncomfortable selling complex, integration-heavy technology solutions.

We are a small, highly technical team. We value professionalism, clarity, and industry expertise. This role has significant upside for the right individual with strong industry relationships and the ability to generate meaningful lender partnerships.

Senior Frontend Engineer (Vue.js) – High Ownership

Location - Seattle, WA USA

Apply

LON builds modern software for lenders operating in the wholesale and third-party origination (TPO) mortgage space. Our platform integrates with loan origination systems, pricing engines, mortgage insurance providers, and compliance vendors to create a unified, high-performance portal experience.

We are looking for a highly skilled Vue.js engineer to lead the evolution of our frontend architecture.

This role is not maintenance-heavy legacy work. While our system has roots in a traditional PHP framework, we are actively migrating toward a more modern, modular architecture. The frontend is a critical part of that evolution. You will play a central role in defining how our user experience is structured, componentized, and scaled.

As a small, high-performing team, we expect strong ownership. Given a clear objective, you should be able to design the frontend architecture, implement it cleanly, and iterate independently. You will have meaningful influence over UI/UX structure, component patterns, state management strategy, and frontend performance.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead the architecture and development of modern Vue.js applications.
  • Design and maintain reusable, scalable component systems.
  • Own frontend state management and data flow patterns.
  • Collaborate with product to shape workflows before development begins.
  • Build clean integrations with backend APIs and microservices.
  • Refactor legacy frontend surfaces into modern Vue-driven experiences.
  • Optimize performance, responsiveness, and usability.
  • Write structured, maintainable code with appropriate test coverage.
  • Participate in technical discussions around broader system evolution.

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years of professional software development experience.
  • Deep expertise in Vue.js (Vue 3 strongly preferred).
  • Strong understanding of component architecture and state management patterns.
  • Experience building complex, data-driven SaaS interfaces.
  • Strong knowledge of modern frontend tooling (Vite/Webpack, npm, build systems).
  • Experience integrating with RESTful APIs.
  • Comfort operating independently in a small team.
  • Strong attention to code quality, maintainability, and scalability.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with TypeScript.
  • Experience refactoring legacy applications into modern architectures.
  • Familiarity with PHP or Python on the backend.
  • Experience in fintech or mortgage technology.
  • Knowledge of the Encompass API or LOS integrations.

How We Work

We are a small, technical team. We value:

  • Clear thinking and high ownership.
  • Independent execution.
  • Strong opinions backed by sound reasoning.
  • Clean, scalable code over quick hacks.
  • Engineers who care about product, not just implementation.

You will not be micromanaged. You will be trusted to own meaningful parts of the frontend architecture.

We prefer candidates located in Seattle, as we work on a hybrid schedule, in office, next to Gasworks Park in Wallingford.
